Barry K. Malone, CFP®

A native of Lubbock, Barry K. Malone graduated from Monterey High School and attended Texas Tech University, majoring in business. His professional life began in July 1982 when he became a career agent with Great American Reserve Insurance Company of Dallas. During his first year there, he was recognized as a rookie leader.

In October 1989, he accepted an offer from Time Insurance Company and Fortis Financial to become a Regional Sales Manager and moved from Lubbock to Abilene. Following this move, in 1991 Barry was named Rookie Sales Manager of the Year. During his tenure with Time and Fortis, he trained, managed and supervised 110 general agents. In 1992, he became a Investment Advisor Representative with Jefferson Pilot.

When his father, Ben Malone, Jr. – also a lifelong professional in the insurance industry – became ill in 1992, Barry returned to Lubbock to work with his father at his agency until his father’s death in 2004.

Although this was a time of great personal loss and grief, Barry continued his professional devotion to helping others prepare for the future and reached two career milestones in 2004 – becoming both a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional. Four years later (in 2008), he became a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). In addition to these professional certifications and designations, he holds the series 6, 7, and 63 registration with LPL Financial, and Series 65 registration with Level Four Advisory Services. Moreover, he provides access to coverage for life, and health insurance needs.

Barry has been a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) for twenty-five years and has served as president of the Lubbock Chapter of NAIFA. In these days of financial insecurity and ever-changing tax laws, Barry is equipped to help individuals execute a strategic and sustained effort toward creating and maintaining a significant legacy. He has helped individuals as they strive to recover from losses during recent stock market fluctuations and rebuild their portfolios.

Not only is Barry committed to helping others plan for their own retirement and the care of their families, he himself is a dedicated family man, married to Cindy (Renee Smith) Malone for 36 years and the father of Kristen Harrison (of Frisco, Texas) and Maegan Malone Cairns and grandson Hudson Keith (of Lubbock). In his spare time, Barry enjoys golfing, cooking and spending time with his family.

Barry is eager to meet you, work with you and help you plan for your and your family’s future.
